The Element

The Element

We reckon the mid-20’s is the most difficult phase in one’s life. The desire to make it big, wanting to get to a 6-digit monthly salary, owning a house, settling down, etc become the priorities at that time. We were no different!

Such priorities makes us get into a dirty rat-race. A race to score the maximum marks, get into the best of colleges, eye for the most lucrative jobs, earn every possible brownie point from the boss, etc, etc! The list continues! Where does this end? Nowhere! The problem is that this race never ends!

This rat-race leads to dissatisfaction at work, absence of purpose of life, vying for materialistic needs, and so on!

Ever imagined, what were our dreams when we were younger! I’ll tell you. The dreams were big. The dreams were super-ambitious. We dreamt to create something that no one had ever created. The dreams were to become the best version of ourselves and in the process help change the world for better! The dreams would be as something like this: representing the country for a sport team, travel to the moon, explore different galaxies, design an automobile which works without fuel, create 100% literacy in the world, etc. Compare this with our dreams today! The dreams will feature buying a 3-BHK flat, owning a luxurious car, taking a family vacation at least once a year. The dreams, now, are practical and analytical in nature.

Why do you think this happened? Does the human race become realistic or materialistic? Is this the reason why we invest around 15 years in Education?

Frankly speaking, I don’t have any answer.

We can answer this only by self-introspection! Then only we can say what brought the change in us? Is growing up and knowing the world better, makes us oblivious of our true talents and deviate us from our dreams? Or have we lost our imaginative powers and passion?

Have we, in the process of making and building our careers, lost a sense of purpose? A purpose, a desire! A desire to do something or create something what we like, what we love!

Have we, in this rat-race, failed to know our ‘Element’!

Element – the place where the things you love to do and the things that you are good at come together

Who am I? What do I like? What is my purpose? What am I supposed to do in this world?

These are the questions we need to ask ourselves. I know for the fact that we won’t be getting the answers very quick simply because for the longest time we haven’t connected to ourselves and our true organic nature! So it will take time but, eventually, we’ll get there!

So how do I start? How do I introspect? What do I introspect? These were the doubts hovering in our minds when we tried to figure out our Element! It’s a slow process, but it’s worth it! We noticed that the Element has various aspects and you have to go down the memory lane to put together the pieces of the puzzle!

So where does the Element lie? How do I know that this is it? We figured that it’s quite simple. Our Element lies in our Happy Moments! Yes, Happy Moments! Just figure out the best moments in your life, moments that still stay fresh in your minds, moments which can never be forgotten! Moments like this changes your life! This is where our Element lies! Element lies in our Happiness!

Mind you, mid-20’s is not too late to know your Element! There’s still an opportunity to change course and chase your dreams!

This blog is an attempt to help people find their Element through various stories! Stories of Happy Moments! We were able to find our Element, maybe in this journey we can help you find yours!
